Stefan Radiker presented on “Mixed Methods: Integrating QUAL and QUAN with MAXQDA” as part of MAXDAYS 2025. Radiker spoke about how MAXQDA supports data import, exploration, analysis, and reporting of qualitative data. For quantitative data, frequency tables, crosstabs/correlation, charts, descriptive statistics, inference statistics, and other quantitative analysis features ara available. Radiker presented data from a survey on a university statistics course with open and closed questions. Radiker explained how they organized the data in a spreadsheet and then imported into MAXQDA. Once imported, each response becomes a document. The quantitative data can be analyzed by graphing variables. Radiker demonstrated how MAXQDA can analyze survey data alone by focusing on variables. Crosstabs can be used to identify respondents that attended the tutorial session and took advanced math, based on the survey. MAXQDA Stats can be used to create scatter plots and compute statistics. Radiker answered questions about analyzing data and the specific qualitative and quantitative tools.
