Alexis Chavez from the University of Nebraska Lincoln spoke at MAXDAYS 2025. His session was titled “How to Write a Paper with MAXQDA.” Chavez spoke about the “last step” of putting into words and communicating results with MAXQDA. Chavez focused on Memo tools and the QTT worksheet. The Memo tab includes various options for different ways of using memos. The QTT Workspace is a dedicated area for organizing various elements such as codes, segments, memos, visualizations, summary tables, and concept maps. Chavez creates a worksheet for a project to collect resources for a study. The title of the worksheet and research questions are part of the information you can include. Chavez said that the QTT worksheets may be underutilized and are powerful ways of collecting and summarizing information. An article can be summarized with AI Assist. A research question can be added to the AI Assist menu to refine the summaries. Visuals and tables can be easily sent to the QTT worksheet. The insights tool helps highlight key findings. Codes and themes can be added to the worksheet along with subcodes to help organize the information. Chavez used a combination of the insights function and code browser. Concept maps can also be added to the QTT worksheet using the icon. Document Maps can be shared or exported to QTT worksheets.
