Dr. Heather Wire, Adjunct Instructor at the University of West Georgia, presented at the Quality in Action meeting. Their topic was “Exploring Online Accessibility through Playful Learning.” They created a digital escape room with suspects with clever names addressing different accessibility topics. Next, Wire shared some of the questions from the digital escape room. For example, one question was about alternative text, and users had to decipher the alternative text from six images. wire also had questions focusing on descriptive links. After the activity, Wire shared the answers to the couple of questions they did. The questions were tough! During the group discussion, the audience shared thoughts about the questions and improving them. Wire shared a playful way to explore accessibility with both students and instructors!
