Quality Matters Conference Insights and Resources

Tonight I watched the Quality Matters (QM) Research Online Conference wrap up. Bethany Simunich spoke about the sessions and research being done. They spoke about the QM Research Landing page. The first element is the QM Research Library. Simunich described it as “the research behind the rubric” and how the site can be used to search for articles by Specific Review Standard, for example. Also, users can contribute to the database with annotated articles. The Research Toolkit is open to any user. Designing Quality Online Learning Research is being revamped to include a self-paced version! Simunich noted that there is also a list of curated QM resources. Research webinars are offered monthly. I have watched and continue to sign up for these webinars. While most of the time I can’t watch them synchronously, the recording is provided after the session. There is a data dashboard for QM coordinators. Users can view course reviews, QM roles, and professional development. There is also a QM website for frequently asked questions and resources, with articles supporting, for example, class size in online courses. I’m going to have to check it out! I am going to need these resources for the article we are writing. Simunich explained that QM White Papers are publicly available and authored by QM Research Colleagues. There are white papers on course design, academic rigor, UDL, and a forthcoming series on AI. The Changing Landscape of Online Education (CHLOE) Report is shared. They are currently working on CHLOE 10! The next QM conference on research is in April! I finished watching these recordings just in time!
