I’ve been thinking about active learning techniques and alternative assessments. The K. Patricia Cross Academy keeps on reappearing in discussions or references. The website is incredible and allows you to filter a large video resource library by activity type or teaching problem addressed. The website is mobile-friendly, and the videos and resources are excellent.

How can I make the most out of this resource?
I think I can go down the list and review each video resource and reflect. Today I started with Digital Story. I think we used something similar in metagenomics with their Tutorial Videos, however, only grad students completed the assignment and my rubric did not include the storyboard element. I did include an explanation but can expand on that and provide more guidelines. This first resource really made me think about how to improve this assignment. I wonder what else I can learn or connect with the next video from the Academy!
