  • Using Random Walk with Restart in GWAS: Insights from KBase

I continued watching the KBase session “Exploring Plant Gene Linkages using Random Walk with Restart Tools.” Kyle Sullivan, a scientist from Oak Ridge National Labs, is working on these apps. The webinar was recorded January 31, 2024. The team developed a series of tools and a narrative. In the example KBase narrative they simulated a GWAS trait in switchgrass well-watered shoot biomass. In the narrative, they start with a detailed overview. The app demo showed how linkages and links to information an be overlayed in a network. The interactivity and links to the data will be important to highlight the source of the data. The multiplex networking options were shared along with teamwork and leadership collaboration resources.
