  • Enhance Your Coding System with Further Rounds of Qualitative Coding

Tonight’s Delve video on qualitative research and coding focused on further rounds of qualitative coding. This two-minute video reviewed codes and improved the code classification system. The session began by noting that while you are grouping codes into themes, you can also review the codes used. When using coding software such as Delve, you can filter codes and re-organize them. In the example, codes were regrouped into a new category called interruptions. While reorganizing codes, you can review and improve your qualitative coding. As the video states, you can go into more depth and find more nuance in your topic. Delve seems to have the added functionality of allowing users to drag and rearrange codes, nesting them or moving when needed. I know MAXQDA and Dedoose also have this feature. Further rounds of qualitative coding help you focus, review your code system, and continue to analyze your data.
